FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Remastered in 24-bit clarity from the original mixes, Erik Wøllo’s long out of print classic album, Emotional Landscapes, is now available as a special remastered edition download-only release.
Portland, OR (August 7, 2020) — Spotted Peccary Music has released the Special Remastered Edition of Erik Wøllo’s essential work, Emotional Landscapes. This tenth solo album is one of the most popular works by the Norwegian ambient-electronic maestro, capturing an all-encompassing moment in his recording career where reflections of the past mingle with hints of what lies ahead.
Expertly remastered from the original mixes by Erik Wøllo himself, this new edition of Emotional Landscapes presents the original album in its original sequence with a new depth and sonic clarity made possible by modern digital audio technology. The album is available at SpottedPeccary.com in all download formats, including the 24-bit High Resolution Studio Master.
Following the huge success of 2001’s Wind Journey, Wøllo’s skills and unmistakable sound were in top form, and as he created Emotional Landscapes he continued to explore the moodier moments that he had discovered within Wind Journey’s groundbreaking musical territory .
Emotional Landscapes shows Wollo’s creativity clearly focused in the present moment and looking to the future. But he also gives a nod to his roots as the tracks “Second Totem” and “Mountain Beach” use elements and samples from his earlier works – glimpses of the past viewed through the lens of a changing world. This collision of past, present, and future is perfectly underscored by the track “Sounds of the Seen – part 1” which closes with an environmental ambient soundscape that was recorded under New York City’s World Trade Center in late August 2001, a few days before the attack on September 11th.
Emotional Landscapes is an elegant work where Erik Wøllo offers an intricate musical expression of the imaginary terrain of the mind. With its deep floating ambiences, infused with the unique vitality of his guitars and electronics, Emotional Landscapes is an essential album in Erik Wøllo’s musical journey, offering a magnificent sonic vista waiting to be discovered again.
Emotional Landscapes (special remastered edition) releases August 7, 2020 on Spotted Peccary Music in all digital formats, including the 24-bit High Resolution Studio Master.
