DeeperNET returns with IMPOSSIBLE LANDSCAPE, the beautiful and intricate follow-up to 2013′s ONE. Downtempo grooves, lush ambient meditations and powerful electronic soundscapes pulse and probe with mesmerizing detail on this dynamic cross-genre album.
The celebrated Norwegian sound-sculpting duo Green Isac is back with their first full length release in 10 years – Passengers, a groovy minimalist ambient recording, packed with melodic hooks and driven by a heavy dose of world-flavored percussion.
A completely realized triptych combining three shorter EP’s which were previously only available on iTunes, Passengers is an irresistible blend of ethno-electronic soundscapes that shows the innovative duo continuing to expand on the Afro-influenced electronic approach they have pioneered for well over two decades, producing an organically fresh neo-IDM vibe; an innovative and vibrant sound that is original and ageless all at once.
With the pieces in place and the mesmerizing picture finally complete, Passengers transports listeners across a virtual trans-continental soundscape, constantly moving through sublime musical spaces, exotic melodies, energetic percussion, and otherworldly atmospheres.
Steve Roach’s Structures From Silence is a true masterpiece; a benchmark album that has inspired countless listeners, and lived on in permanence throughout the decades. The album’s breathing, suspended embrace of atmospheres and serene melodies instantly struck a chord with listeners in 1984, and continues to reiterate its timeless resonation with new listeners today.
For the 30th anniversary of this genre-defining, landmark release, the original analog reel was carefully pulled from the archives, and a new 24-bit/96k transfer was made directly from the source recordings. From there it was handed over to Spotted Peccary’s Howard Givens, whose passion for this timeless album, coupled with a long-standing friendship with Roach, made this a deeply meaningful project. Givens, who masters 24/96k releases for Spotted Peccary on a regular basis, is no stranger to the delicate precision of high definition mastering, and the result here a 24-bit/96k remaster of Structures From Silence that reveals all the luscious quality and subtle tonal detail not heard since the 1984 vinyl release.
